Children's Ministry
Vacation Bible School was a great success and lots of fun!  Our theme
was "How can children serve God our father?"  The children who
attended learned how to serve God and others in many ways.  They made
32 place mats for the Senior Center, 20 birthday bags for the Food
Cupboard, over 20 cards and 5 Mod Podge flower pots for the shut-ins,
2 fleece blankets for WomenSafe, and also sorted through donated
Barbies and Barbie clothes to give to a refugee family.  After we did
all this, one child asked why we didn't make "boo-boo" bunnies for the
Food Cupboard.  I told her that we ran out of time and would make them
and 6 more blankets during worship in July.

Thank you to the children who attended and worked so hard.  Thanks
also to Holly Boros and Bruce Carson for their generous donations.
And a BIG thank you to the adults and older children who made VBS
possible - Heather Wiley, Molly Gilles, Roz Kvet, Grace Hederstrom,
Helen Wilson, Heather Penrod, Jenny Gilles, Cheryl Hederstorm, Kristin
Yeomans, and Paul Hederstrom.

Our next project is cleaning and re-arranging the Sunday School rooms.
Date and time will be announced soon, and all are welcome to help.

Blessings, Vickie

Scripture:     Matthew 16.13-20

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.  And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.  I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”  Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.
