Chi Rho will meet on Sunday, October 22nd, after coffee hour for a round of mini golf at Chip's Club House and then lunch. We hope everyone will be able to join us.
Over the next few weeks, I'll be looking for nursery volunteers to assist during church. I'm also looking for teachers for the 1st to 3rd grade class as well as the Chi Rho (4th grade and up) class. We also need substitutes and assistants for all the classes. No one will be asked to teach/help every Sunday; you decide how much time you have to give. It's a great way to get to know the children in our church.
The Peace Cranes took flight on Tuesday October 11th and are on their way to the First Christian Church in Clark County, Las Vegas, Nevada. They are expected to arrive on October 17th. I have spoken with Senior Pastor Steve Willis and he and his congregation are touched by our kindness and they are anxiously awaiting their arrival. He explained that two other churches use their church building and he plans to share the cranes with them. I will update you again after their arrival and when I hear back from Pastor Willis. I believe that this is a very special way to be in fellowship with a church far away and in need of peace and healing.

Live from Puerto Rico
As we continue to keep Puerto Rico in our prayers, Disciples are invited to join Global Ministries (Disciples of Christ and United Church of Christ) in a webinar on Wednesday with Rev. Miguel A. Morales Castro, the General Pastor of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Puerto Rico (Discipulospr). Keep up with current relief efforts, and learn how you can support them. http://bit.ly/2xufCRd
DID YOU KNOW...
PCC’s Memorial Prayer Garden is a tranquil garden prayer area just outside the church. The area contains beautiful landscaping, and areas and paths through the garden are lined with bricks placed in memory of loved ones who have gone to be with the Lord.
Memorial bricks are available in two sizes – 4 x 8 inches and 8 x 8 inches – and inscribed as indicated by the purchaser. Small bricks can accommodate 3 lines of text, and large bricks can accommodate 5 lines of text. Each line of text may be up to 15 (including spaces) and is either centered or left-justified as indicated by the purchaser.
The bricks are typically blessed during the worship service nearest All Saints Day and are installed shortly thereafter.
The prayer garden is a lovely area to visit for a quiet time of reflection, remembrance, and prayer and to celebrate the beauty of God’s creation.
If you are interested in purchasing a memorial brick for the prayer garden, please obtain and complete an order form from the PCC office by October 22 to allow time for your brick to be engraved and included in this year’s blessing and placement.
