Holy Week Worship
Holy Week begins Sunday, March 20 with Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday Procession On the Square @ 9:00am
The Chardon Ministerial Association invites you to join together with brothers and sisters in Chardon to process and sing around the Square this Sunday morning. It is a time to re-imagine Christ's entrance into Jerusalem and an event to place us within the spirit of this holy week.
Palm Sunday Worship @ 10:00am
Join us for this vibrant worship service graced with the music of the Pilgrim Brass in the sanctuary at 10am.
Maundy Thursday Worship: Thursday, March 24 @ 7:00pm
We'll gather in the sanctuary to re-imagine the last evening of Jesus with his disciples - when he took bread, blessed it and broke it; when he took the cup, poured it out and shared it. It is the same night when he offered to the disciples a new command: to love one another.
The service begins with communion and then moves to a time of listening to scripture as the story unfolds of that evening, the betrayal, and the arrest.
Good Friday Ecumenical Service: Friday, March 25 @ 12:00pm-3:00pm
Pilgrim Christian Church is hosting Chardon's ecumenical service drawn from a structure referred to as "The Last Seven Words." Through the course of three hours, we move through a pattern of song, scripture, homily, and prayer. The service moves through the moments of Good Friday with a different clergy member offering a homily to accompany the word. You are perfectly welcome to come and go as you need, and perfectly welcome to stay for the duration as well.
Good Friday Evening Service of Prayer: Friday March 25 @ 7:00pm
The sanctuary will be open and we'll gather for a service of prayer led by scripture. This will be a time to contemplate the trajectory of faith as descent, the costs of discipleship, and the resilience of hope.
