Pilgrim Christian was formed as a result of a merger in 1950 between the First Congregational Church and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).   We are affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ.  Use the links below to learn about the history of our congregation and about our denominational affiliates.

Within the structure of both denominations:

The local church is the basic unit

Each congregation practices its own forms of worship,       service, evangelism, fellowship and discipleship

The affairs of the church are managed by the members
The pastor is a member of the congregation

Our members come from diverse religious backgrounds.  We are actively ecumenical in building relationships with other churches, working to identify spiritual common ground and to unite all Christians in shared bonds of worship, beliefs and action.

Located at the center of Chardon, we are a community church and we extend the stewardship of our building to host a wide variety of educational and service activities ranging from Scouts to a harmonica club and GED classes to AA groups.
